05/21/01. Advances in the handling of the law of free software within the Committees of the Chamber of Congress. More information .
05/05/01. The committee meeting planned for 5/3/01 was rescheduled for 5/10/01 due to scheduling conflicts. Anyway a meeting with the consultants of the congressmen took place, with a very fruitful exchange of ideas. At the end of the meeting the consultants received a document with Recommendations presented by the Free Path Foundation (Fundación Vía Libre).
05/05/01. Two new documents in the site: "Razones por las que el Estado debe usar Software Libre" (which makes part of the bases of Proposición) and "Use of Free Software by the Government: Frequently Asked Questions".
04/27/01. The Free Path Foundation (Fundación Vía Libre) was invited by the president of the General Legislative Committee to attend the meeting the following Thursday (5/3/01). The three committees involved on handling the law: Communications and IT, General Legislation and Public Works, will form part of this meeting.
04/19/01. The Free Software bill (Dragan´s bill) was presented to the General Legislation Committee of the Argentina National Chamber of Congress.
04/02/01. The document "Digital Crossroads" with the bases of Proposición is already available. It explains the reasons why the state should use open technologies. Comments are welcome.

04/02/01. New references were added. Among the most important ones there is a Linux implementation plan in Mexico City (DF), the launch of an 32-bit Sparc-like Open Core CPU by the European Space Agency and the finding of an Open Hardware Project: Open Cores.
04/02/01. In addition to the Proposición project there is a Implementation Project for the use of Free Software within the National Government. This subject is related to the Dragan´s Bill.
